Reception at the house is open from 11am - 6pm everyday. Mobile number on site for other times.
Late arrivals please let us know you are here via phone number listed on the outside of the "Tea Shed" Texts are welcome.
All Grass Paths in the main field lead down to the showers, toilets, main house and stable block where the honesty shop is located,
To walk to the pub we advise using the same path and then follow our drive way.
A large ordnance survey map is located in the Tea-Shed, located next to the play area in the main camping field. This is also where you will find the bins, washing up area and hot water.
"The site was wonderful. the views were amazing, as advertised, the weather was great, which always helps. This is one of the nicest sites i have stayed at, the tea shed is cute and just about right, the showers were clean and well appointed, there were extra toilets (although one had the largest spider in Devon trapped in the sink, so tat was one less for me to chose from!).
We have grown up children who are nice enough to not come camping with us but even so i was very impressed with the facilities for children, slides, trampoline, play area, craft tent, all very very thoughtful and done very well.
The honour shop was just about perfect, with the addition of a free to use freezer!
The pub down the road, appox 300 ft from the site. was very good, i would recommend this to any one and every one.
AND i could reception on my phone! Over all i would give the campsite 5 stars, 10/10 100% or full marks in which ever rating system you prefer."
Before taking the plunge please consider the following;
We are located a 10 minute drive from the main road, this involves some narrow lanes and steep hills. Do not follow your sat nav or google maps please click here for the right directions
The pub is closed on Mondays all year round
We don't allocate pitches, we try to leave the field as natural as possible
There is a strict 11pm quiet rule.
This is a Dog friendly site we also like to hear kids play and have fun.
We are not a large commercial caravan site. so please dont expect one
Our facilities are basic and rustic, but kept very clean unless we have monsoon weather
If everyone wants a shower at 10 am expect to queue for the two showers
We do not provide a reception area, evening entertainment, hard standings, EHU, we do not have a pool, unless you include puddles in the rain.
If someone decides to have a domestic and make noise, we will provide buckets of cold water to cool them off, but please don't hold us responsible.
We love feedback, but we cant change, our location, the weather, other peoples children, other peoples dogs, the lie of the land.
We are a basic site, in an outstanding area of the countryside, with reasonable prices and a laid back attitude.
We have two Bell Tents fully furnished in a private field adjoining the main camping field. Situated perfectly to enjoy the views.
Open 8th May - 30 September 2020
"Absolutely stunning location and views in a fantastic and comfortable tent with all mod cons. Kate was very welcoming when we arrived rather late - then she was available if we needed her throughout our stay but fortunately we didn't. The evenings were fairly chilly (and this from a Northumbrian) but the Wood-burner inside the tent soon took effect and we had toasty evenings. The kitchen area was well-equipped and allowed us to prepare cooked breakfast and an evening meal without any problems. All-in-all a fantastic set up... which I'm sure we'll use again!"
