The Details
MOWER MAYHEM IS BACK
Yes, already.
Saturday 11th July 2026
Hennock Hideaways
3rd race of the season
Same mowers, some familiar faces, some new challengers, same chaos and slightly louder shouting.
Expect a full afternoon of racing, breakdowns, questionable overtaking and at least one person wondering why they agreed to this.
What’s going on then?
Mower racing - Gates open 11.30am racing starts at 12pm
Fast ish. Competitive ish. Held together with hope.
Food and drink
JJ Meats will be here over the lunchtime period, keeping everyone fed while the mowers are doing their best not to fall apart.
The Pizza Co will be here from 6pm onwards, so evening food is covered too.
Hot drinks will be available and the bar will be open for all the important post race analysis.
Kids stuff
The play area will be open.
No bouncy castle this time. We’re building resilience.
Dogs welcome
Bring them along. They’ll probably behave better than most of the drivers.
Dogs must be kept on leads and under control at all times.
Marquee up for shelter
We’ve even put a marquee up this time.
Finally for shade rather than teh rain!!!
How the racing actually starts
Drivers spend the morning going through scrutineering, qualifying and last minute “adjustments”.
This usually means fixing something that definitely should have been fixed last week.
There will be a lot of poking, prodding, revving and confident claims of:
“Yeah, that’ll be fine.”
Then once the gates open to spectators, we’ll aim to get going with our first race, starting with Group C.
We say aim. You know how this goes.
How the racing works
After qualifying, drivers are placed into:
Group A - Fastest qualifying.
Group B - Middle of the pack and pretending they meant it.
Group C - Still racing, still important, possibly still attached to the mower.
Then we get into the tournament races:
Group C kicks things off
Then Group B
Then Group A, where things get slightly more serious.
Each group will have 2 or 3 races across the day, all scoring points.
And this year it actually means something.
All results go towards the annual championship, so there are proper bragging rights on the line all season.
Then it gets a bit unhinged
Once the organised part is done, we move on to whatever is still working:
Team relays
Organised chaos.
Whacky Race
No one really knows what’s going on.
Capture the Flag
If anything survives long enough.
Evening entertainment
At 6.30pm, The Velocirocktors will be playing live on stage to finish off an awesome day of racing.
The bar will be open until late.
We are also planning to show the football on the other stafe in the evening.

Camping information
Campers will park in the event parking field during racing.
Vehicles can move onto the camping field once racing has finished.
Camping is for Saturday night only.
Sunday is not a public event day. Additional racing may take place on Sunday morning, so don’t expect a lie in.
What to bring
A chair or something to sit on, because picnic benches are limited and nobody wants to stand all afternoon.
Shade, umbrellas, gazebos or whatever you’ve got, because it’s looking hot and we don’t need anyone slowly turning into a pork scratching.
Sun cream, hats and plenty of water.
A sense of humour.
Loud cheering and mild heckling.
Realistic expectations. This is mower racing, not Silverstone.
The important bits
Entry is cheap. Less than a round at the bar.
Parking is on site. Follow the signs and don’t overthink it.
Come for a couple of hours or stay for the lot.
Please keep children supervised at all times.
Dogs must be kept on leads and under control.
Please follow all marshal instructions and safety signs.
Safety
Mower racing is a live motorsport event, so things move, sometimes unexpectedly.
Spectators must stay in the public areas and must not enter the track, pits or restricted areas unless authorised.
Vehicles and personal belongings remain your responsibility.
Anyone behaving dangerously, ignoring safety instructions or generally being a pain in the backside may be asked to leave.
Timings and activities may change due to weather, ground conditions, racing delays or safety requirements.
