This is it.

After a season of racing, breaking things, fixing things, breaking them again, arguing over locked diffs, cutting corners and who had the racing line versus who just invented one...

the 2026 Mower Mayhem Championship comes down to one final day.

The points matter.

The trophies are waiting.

The bar is stocked.

And absolutely nobody has checked the September weather forecast yet.

Come and join us for our last Mower Mayhem of 2026 and one final blowout before we put the campsite, the bar and hopefully most of the mowers to bed for winter...

🏁 What’s happening?

The Championship Finale.

Our racers have been collecting points all season and this is where we finally find out who gets to spend the winter telling everybody they’re the 2026 Mower Mayhem Champion.

Expect proper racing.

Well... as proper as racing ride on lawnmowers around a field can ever be.

🍔 Food and drink

Food will be available during the day, hot drinks for anyone pretending September is still summer and the Mower Mayhem bar will be open for its final outing of the year.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Probably into us.

How the racing works

Drivers spend the morning qualifying, being adjudicated and making those important last minute mechanical adjustments that definitely should have been done before they arrived.

There will be poking, prodding, revving and confident claims of:

“Yeah, that’ll be fine.”

Usually, qualifying times on the day split our racers into Groups A, B and C, putting mowers of roughly similar speed together before the racing begins.

For the finale, though, we may be mixing things up slightly.

We’re still working out exactly how we want the final race day of the championship to run, so the format may be a little different from our usual three group set up.

What we can promise is plenty of racing, championship points on the line and absolutely no shortage of people arguing about locked diffs, cut corners and whose fault that actually was.

For some racers it’ll be about becoming the 2026 Mower Mayhem Champion.

For others it’ll be about finishing the season with a mower containing roughly the same number of parts it arrived with.

🏆 And there’ll be a few extra trophies too...

The championship winners won’t be the only people getting their hands on a trophy.

We’ve watched this lot all season, so we’ve seen absolutely everything.

• The ones who turned up to every single race.

• The ones who sacked off weekends away because mower racing somehow became more important.

• The ones who got run over. Yes, actually run over. And came back.

• The ones who came off and somehow didn’t break anything.

• The ones who held their mower together with tape, cable ties, grit and blind optimism.

• The ones who broke it, fixed it, broke it again and still made the next race.

• And the ones who just kept going, regardless of what fell off.

So alongside the championship trophies, we’ll be throwing in a few extra end of season awards of our own for the racers who have given us some of the best moments of the year.

Some will be well deserved.

Some will be ridiculous.

Some may be based entirely on something we have not let them forget since April.

Because you don’t necessarily have to be the fastest racer of the season to leave with a trophy.

Sometimes you just have to have survived it.

🤪 And then we ruin all the sensible racing

Once the championship racing is done and the important points have been safely counted, we’ll see what still moves.

Depending on time, machinery and enthusiasm, expect some combination of:

• Team relays

• Whacky racing

• Le Mans style starts

• Other ideas somebody has suggested after being allowed near the bar

Basically, if there are enough functioning mowers left, we’ll find something stupid to do with them.

🔥 Then comes the last blowout

When the racing finishes, we’re not immediately chucking everyone out.

Quite the opposite.

The bar stays open, the fire gets going and we’ll carry on into the evening with:

We may even throw some live music into the mix if we can pull it off.

Either way, there will definitely be tunes and a proper end of season send off.

It’s not just the racers camping.

Once the racing is finished, the field is quiet and it’s safe to do so, spectators are welcome to pitch up too.

Bring a tent, bring the campervan, park yourselves in and stay for the evening rather than worrying about getting home.

If you think you’re going to stay, please drop us a message beforehand so we can make sure we’ve got enough space for everyone.

Nothing particularly glamorous.

Just a field, a fire, a bar, some tunes and a collection of people who have spent the afternoon shouting at lawnmowers.

Which, frankly, sounds alright to us.

👧 Kids

The play area will be open. Bring them.

They’ll either love the racing or spend five hours on the zip line while you become emotionally invested in a 20 year old lawn mower.

Both are acceptable.

🐾 Dogs

Dogs are very welcome. Please keep them under control around the racing. Statistically they are still likely to behave better than the drivers.

☔ Shelter

The marquee will be up.

Because this is September in Devon and we’ve finally stopped pretending optimism counts as weatherproofing.

🪑 What to bring

Bring a chair because picnic benches are limited.

Bring sensible footwear because it is a field.

Bring layers because September could provide sunshine, rain, wind, frost and heatstroke before the second race.

And bring your best shouting voice.

Cheering encouraged. Mild heckling practically compulsory.

🍻 Stay for the finish

You can pop in for a couple of hours.

But this is the finale, so we’d rather you didn’t.

Stay for the championship racing.

Stay to see the trophies handed out.

Stay for the bar.

Stay for the fire.

Pitch a tent if you fancy it.

Stay until somebody starts explaining why their mower would definitely have won if the belt hadn’t come off.

❤️ A genuine thank you from us

Mower Mayhem has become far bigger, louder and more brilliantly ridiculous than we imagined when we started it.

The racers turn up, help each other, fix each other’s machines and then spend the afternoon desperately trying to beat each other.

People volunteer their time and hundreds of you have turned up this season to stand in a Devon field and cheer for lawnmowers.

So this final one is also our chance to say a genuine thank you to everyone who has raced, helped, marshalled, volunteered, bought a drink, shouted from the sidelines or simply come along and supported it.

You’ve helped make Mower Mayhem what it is.

So come and help us finish 2026 properly.

⚠️ The boring but necessary bit

Mower racing is motorsport and involves inherent risks.

Please follow instructions from marshals and organisers, stay behind spectator boundaries and supervise children and dogs at all times.

The ground is uneven in places, so sensible footwear is strongly recommended.

Camping and vehicle access onto the field will only be allowed once racing has finished and organisers confirm it is safe to do so.

Please take reasonable care of yourself, those in your care and your belongings while attending.
